Bastions of bling Swarovski hosted an intimate rooftop party for the worlds of design, media, art, and fashion to celebrate the 2010 Council of Fashion Designers of America Award honorees and nominees.

Nadja Swarovski co-hosted the event with W magazine’s editor-in-chief Stefano Tonchi at the rooftop terrace of the new Ink 48 Hotel on 11th Avenue. In a feat of a extraordinary event planning, a brilliant Manhattan sunset was on hand offering spectacular views of Manhattan, making the trip far west worthwhile for the famously fashion fickle.
"Anyone can take my picture with this light,” joked Donna Karan. “This light is so New York.”
Forget about showcasing the bling (and sunset), the event was more like a showcase of the who's-who in the fashion set. Donna Karen, Cynthia Rowley, Elie Tahari, Thom Browne, Giles Menel, Tory Burch, Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson, (I'm running out of line space), Leigh Lezark, Rachel Roy etc. all attended the sunset setting ceremony celebrating all the new fashionable designers being welcomed into their fabulous inner circle.
Nominees in attendance included Jason Wu, who is nominated in the Womenswear category and famously donned (ironically the event hosts themselves) Swarovski crystals over a one-shouldered ivory chiffon ball dress covered in organza flowers worn by the First Lady on Inauguration Night (if that doesn't guarantee a win, we don't know what will!)
