Julia Childs, Killer Cook, Also WWII Spy

by Rachelle Hruska · August 14, 2008

julia-childsToday, the National Archives released the names of more than 35,000 top-secret personnel files of World War II-era spies.  And thus, it's shaping up to be a great day!  This is the most exciting information I've heard all week.  The name on the list that's got everyone particularly interested in: Julia Childs. That's right the queen of the kitchen was helping save our asses in WWII.  I wonder if she lured any enemies over with her "killer pies".  More notable names on the list:

Other notables identified in the (OSS) files include John Hemingway, son of author Ernest Hemingway; Quentin and Kermit Roosevelt, sons of President Theodore Roosevelt; and Miles Copeland, father of Stewart Copeland, drummer for the band The Police. [The AP]

I hope desperate housewives everywhere follow Ms. Child's lead and start taking risks of their own, even if that means mixing up their pot roast night.
