MERCEDES-BENZ STAR LOUNGE @MBFashionWeek #StarLounge
The Basics: The official sponsor of New York Fashion Week, Mercedes-Benz, set up a VIP lounge within the tents at Lincoln Center. Big screen TV’s ran live streams and repeats of the shows, making it almost like having a front row seat to almost everything.
Location: It doesn’t get more convenient than being located inside the tents! The dark lighting and plush décor provided by interior designer, Wesley Cadle, made the Star Lounge the most lounge-y feeling, and probably the most relaxing of all 3.
The Goodies: Besides pamphlets about Wesley Cadle and an endless supply of FiberOne bars (one of NYFW’s other official sponsors) there weren’t any freebies to be had.
Food Factor: The food on the other hand, deserves an A+. Passed appetizers meant that you didn’t even have to get up to get fed. Fresh salads, delicious antipasto and quiche were among the constantly rotating food spread. And for those who preferred a liquid lunch, champagne and wine were always available – as well as the more innocent tea and coffee.
The Celeb sightings: While I was there, I met June Ambrose and helped hide her from Lil’ Kim who walked in with an entourage (apparently, June and Kim are not exactly friends). Karlie Kloss’ name was also on the list just above mine, meaning she’d checked out right before I checked in.
The Verdict: The inviting and relaxing environment was an excellent place to de-stress, catch up on work and on any shows you missed. The delicious food factor also bumps up the Star Lounge on my list of favorites.
