Brooklyn Decker Talks Style, Comfort, & Her New Fashion Collection With BURU

by Christie Grimm · April 12, 2021

Looks like Brooklyn Decker can add yet another title to her growing list of occupations. The model, actress and tech entrepreneur has just launched her first fashion line with cult favorite brand BURU, and you are so not going to be able to resist.

Designed in collaboration with BURU founder Morgan Hutchinson, Brooklyn's Heirloom Collection is all about blending flattering, comfortable silhouettes with functionality. That means classic color ways, machine washable fabrics, reversible designs, and perhaps most important of all, pockets!

Following BURU's passion for sustainability, all pieces are cut-to-order from deadstock fabrics in the brand's Los Angeles micro-factory. Oh, and Brooklyn will be donating 100% of her portion of sales to the Special Olympics and Andy Roddick Foundation. So really, how can you not buy something?!

Curious to learn more about the Brooklyn's enviable fashion sense?

How would you describe your everyday style?
I don’t know that I have any style whatsoever!

I wear what brings me joy. Some days that’s overalls, others it’s a dress and heels.

The universal thread is my love for color. And anything vintage.

What was your inspiration behind your chic collaboration with BURU?
Morgan, from BURU, and I were feeling particularly nostalgic when designing this together (blame it on the year of quarantine) so we wanted to create something that felt dressed up (without sacrificing any sweatsuit comforts), full of pieces that look like you could have found them in your very cool grandmother’s closet.

Which piece from the collection are you wearing on repeat?
The reversible midi skirt. We have it in three colorways. The back is elastic, so it feels cozy- but looks very well tailored. I can throw it on with a t-shirt and sneaks, or dress it up with heels and a sweater for a dinner.

What type of outfit do you always feel your best in?
Jeans. Gorgeous heels, preferably in velvet. And a special jacket. We have a frayed, cream tweed jacket in our collection that perfectly fits the bill.

    Biggest fashion pet peeve?
    Trendiness.

What's one thing you have far too many of in your closet?
    Tight tailored jackets.

What are you most likely to be carrying in your pockets?
    A pacifier. A mask. A tampon.

What are you most excited for next?
    Embracing other human beings.
