Last night Guest of a Guest joined an intimate group of people at Socialista to raise money for The Chamber Dance Project. While sipping on Chopin inspired cocktails we experienced live performances by the Chamber Dancers which were very interactive, fully using the space at Socialista (think window sills, shutters, couches and even the windows themselves). It was fun and light as I mingled my way through the crowd, bidding on wonderful silent auction items, meeting the dancers and talking to some of New York's most fashionable and interesting characters. For example, we caught up with NYC Housewives's Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen who are currently looking for a Hamptons house for the summer and will definitely be out there for Memorial Day to open the season.
I also enjoyed a nice chat with Tracy Stern as I admitted my my obsession with her four roll on fragrances from her SalonTEA line - I made her smell me as I was wearing The Fashionable Dandy. I talked to Devorah Rose about Social Life Magazine's omni present role in the Hamptons this summer, greeted fabulous designer Nicole Romano, and the list goes on....
The Chamber Dance Project is a company of professional artists dedicated to redefining contemporary ballet in partnership with live music in intimate settings. The mission is to share their expressive interpretation of arts with diverse and captivated audiences. This organization has great heart and last year they were able to donate 400 free performance tickets to NYC public school children, social service agencies and senior citizens. Funds raised last night through purchase of tickets and donated silent auction items will hopefully allow The Chamber Dance Project to double their philanthropy efforts this year. The cocktail benefited CDP and was chaired by Aslaug Magnusdottir, Pooneh Mohazzabi and Susan Shin. Also the dance vignettes were “creative intrusions” which had dancer climbing walls and scaffolding outside Socialista as well as inside. The event was great and we had a ton of fun!
