Watch out, Wall Street: New York Housewives have a viable excuse for their outrageous credit card bills this month: the annual Shop For Public Schools events are kicking off, and this year all retail donations will go directly to the Fund for Public Schools to help support public school library programs. As always, the Christian Dior boutique came to support the cause in a big way, with guest speakers Caroline Kennedy and Wendi Murdoch gracing the crowd with some inspiring words before joining LVMH CEO's Renaud Dutreil and Pamela Baxter, designer Lisa Perry, the lavish Lisa Falcone, actress Deborra-Lee Furness, and Dior duo Brooke Travis and Taylor Olson, in browsing the label's fall accessories collection. Indeed, the oversize leather bags and fringe-accented high heels of the season provided a tempting backdrop for the event. Hopefully, the Public Schools can make a profit off of the $6,550 Babe Python bag we've been eyeing.
