Last night's thunderstorms hardly stopped the sailors from celebrating onboard the Lightship Frying Pan.  The Yacht was rocking at Hudson River Community Sailing's 2nd Annual Dark & Stormy benefit, held at one of Manhattan's most popular outdoor venues in Hudson River Park.

Under a canopy glittered with J24 sails, HRCS fed the Sperry- and seersucker-clad crowd with tasty hors d'oueuvres, nautical Goslings libations and dancing under the stars.

HRCS Director and 2008 US Sailing Director of the Year Bill Bahen doled out gifts, raffle and auction items from Vineyard Vines gear to a Vanguard 15 dinghy.

As Manhattan's premiere non-profit maritime education organization, the HRCS mission is to develop leadership in New York City youth through sailing education and provide maritime recreation to the community at large.  Proceeds from the event are being used to enhance the current HRCS youth education programs and build out future initiatives.
