On Monday evening, Page Six, as it is wont to do, rocked the fashion world with an unprecedented report: Anna. Wintour. Leaving. Vogue.
Um, say what?!
According to their sources, the grande dame of Condé Nast is slated to leave behind both of her major roles, as in overarching artistic director of the publishing company and editor-in-chief of Vogue. The departure would be occurring this summer, after her daughter Bee's highly-anticipated wedding to Francesco Carrozzini, the son of Vogue Italia's late editor (talk about all in the family). The move would also come after the completion of her final September issue (you know, the most important mag of the year?). As for her replacement at the helm of the Style Bible, Page Six pointed to Edward Enninful, the current EIC over at British Vogue.
We mean, we knew this day would come eventually (Anna really does deserve to enjoy some leisure time), but oh - so soon?!
Of course, fashionistas may have nothing to fear after all. Both Vogue and Condé are fiercely denying the rumors, with a rep from the magazine telling The Cut, "There’s zero truth to the story."
We suppose only time will tell.
