As of March 1st, single-use plastic bags in NYC are no more! Personally, I've been schlepping around Whole Foods tote bags for years, avoiding all the unnecessary plastic that I can. But apparently I've been in the minority since it seems that everybody is up in a tizzy over this eco development. New Yorkers will now either have to pay for paper bags, bring their own reusable ones, or carry their CVS shopping haul back by hand.
