Although the past few months have seen most of us stuck at home (or, if we're lucky, at a friend's summer house), quarantine hasn't stopped passionate fashionistas from stocking up on designer clothing. The RealReal recently released its 2020 Resale Report, highlighting the shopping trends of stylish consumers in the age of COVID.

From the perspective of a Jordan, Supreme, and Off-White-wearing New Yorker, it's no surprise that Louis Vuitton has taken over other designer powerhouses, given their new push in the streetwear world and frequent collaborations with other staple streetwear brands.

According to the RealReal, aside from Louis' dominance during quarantine, the 2017 Louis Vuitton x Supreme Epi Keepall Bandouliére 45 is number nine in the top ten most purchased items during quarantine. Who's driving Louis' upward ascent, you may ask? Millennials and Gen Z, supposedly, as they drove up demand for LV 88% among the younger demographic. Before I go on, I'm going to abstain from talking about my personal favorite brands and pieces (Jordans, Off-White, Supreme, that kind of thing...) because I think it's pretty obvious that Preme's FW18 waist bag, literally any hyped Off-White hoodie or Off-White x Nike piece, and the Jordan 1 Breds would continue their upward trajectory.

Beyond Louis, Gucci and Chanel have kept up their dominance, although they fell to second and third, respectively, on the designer brand rankings. Gucci has remained on its pedestal in Mens' fashion: rising 52% in sales during quarantine, Gucci is #1 in mens' sales on the RealReal. However, no Gucci merchandise can be found on the top ten most purchased items during quarantine, which is odd considering they raised their (re)sales a significant amount during this lockdown.

Both Saint Laurent and Burberry return to the top ten designer powerhouse list, with Burberry, in line with the Tisci effect, climbing from #13 to #8 in the biggest leap we've seen this pandemic. I guess we won't be rid of YSL or everyone's favorite check designer items for quite a while, as Vaccarello’s Loulou bag is up 143% this past few months, and there's been a hike in Burberry's men's demand (52% to be exact). 

In more exciting news, however, the report has revealed a number of labels on the rise that chic shoppers (and resellers) would be wise to get their hands on ASAP. If you're over the typical luxury brands, click through for the cool-kid designers disrupting the market.
