Scott Hosts The Winter Antiques Show's Young Collectors' Night, Spends ALL His Money At Auction!

Last night found us at The Winter Antiques at The Armory. Last night was the official young collector's night and, along with the antiques show featured an amazing silent auction (more on that later). I was on the committee, along with Kipton Cronkite, William Gilbane III, Emily Israel, Elizabeth Meigher, Hudson Morgan, Tatiana Perkin, & Gillian Hearst. The proceeds went to the East Side Settlement House.

My date for the evening was the always beautiful and glamorous Grace Gomez-Brea. We checked out the pieces we had already seen and revisited some favorites.

A special favorite of Grace's was a depression era mirror-given the financial climate-how fitting. There was a definite somber air to the whole thing and for once you really did not see the over the top fashion that one has grown accustomed to.

The silent auction featured everything from a ski trip to spa getaways to David Letterman tickets. A definite sign of the times was that a lot of the items had the minimum bid crossed out in red marker with a lower minimum bid taking its place. I personally won three items and only one of them was over the minimum set price. Grace got an amazing python clutch for Roger Vivier for the minimum $500 bid with a stated value of $2000. I got David Letterman tickets, A Tory Burch bag and ties, a Kiehl's bonanza of products and a beautiful Burberry bag. So when I am homeless I will have a nice place to keep my things!

Others in attendance included DJ Angelos Styliano, Gillian Hearst Simonds and her lovely husband Christian, Elizabeth Meigher, the always effervescent Emma Snowdon Jones, Jason Rogers and Tim Morehouse, Kipton Cronkite and Cristina Civetta.

We had planend on attending the Hell's Kitchen premiere party but we had to lug our haul back to my place so we unfortunately missed it although we are rooting for our friend, Seth Levine, brother of the newlywed designer Alisha Levine Azzizi.

Grace and I dumped our stuff and headed down to Rose Bar to meet up with the always gorgeous, Allie Rizzo. There we sipped on $30 cocktails like there was no recession in sight. We then headed over to Rendezvous and had some drinks complements of Ryan Vallan. All in all an amazing night....
