Sneak Preview! Jimmy Choo and H&M Collaboration To Hit Stores November 14th With Womens AND Mens

by CARSON GRIFFITH · October 29, 2009

Carrie Bradshaw might have given me false hopes with her lifestyle of fabulous shoes and expensive clothes on a writers salary, but collaborations between stores like H&M and designers like Matthew Williamson may be turning some of those pipe dreams into reality these days. The stores latest collaboration with one of the Sex & the City character's favorite big names, Jimmy Choo, goes above and beyond all expectations, with not only a line of shoes, but accessories and ready-to-wear as well. And thanks to a preview of the line before it hits stores for sale to the general public on November 14th, I was able to check it out for all you ladies and gents.

Tamara Mellon fans (the line's creative director) can look forward to not just women's clothing: For the first time ever, Jimmy Choo will come out with a line of men's wear as well. So what can you expect from the upscale designer line merging with the popular pocket-friendly H&M? Lots of luxe fabrics, an abundance of leather and suede. On top of it, Mellon chose to go with plenty of figure flattering shapes while still sex-ing up her line with low-cut one pieces and one shoulder dresses. And for the boys, she kept it simple with jeans and t-shirts, while adding a leather jacket, ties, bags, and belts. And of course, the shoes! If you just can't bring yourself to shell out a grand or more for over the knee thigh highs, you're in luck: For $299, you can get your hands on a pair of genuine leather boots. Just think of what you can do with the extra money you save. Or spend - on more shoes. It's up to you.

A leather jacket from the menswear collection. And while I wouldn't trade my Giuseppe Zannoti boots for anything, these genuine leather thigh highs for a FRACTION of a cost make me think twice about my purchase... and my savings account.

Studio 54 may be in our past but the Boom Boom Room is not. So if you're thinking how to look like a disco-master instead of a disco-ball here's some suggestions for both sexes: This zip-up sequin jacket and these mens slide-ons:

And if you want to keep things a bit more simple, this short sleeved suede dress pops with color, but has a simple cut... until you turn around. The low back is a nice surprise. but the shape would be flattering on just about anyone. And probably one of my all time favorite pieces in the collection are these black leather leggings, which are reminiscent of Helmut Lang's in the cut in the leg. However, they not only have a higher fit in the waist, but they also have a much lower price tag significantly (approximately $500 lower).

A one shoulder suede dress is form fitting due to the fit, but forgiving due to the drape, and I can only imagine what it looks like on. These pieces from the mens ready-to-wear line also display Tamara's casual, chic look she's going, which can go from day to night.
