Brooks Brothers, the country's oldest clothing retailer, celebrated its 202nd birthday during the COVID-19 outbreak and filed for bankruptcy on July 8th. It's a major blow for the identity-defining menswear staple, which has become synonymous with the society set, along with the worlds of business and finance. Though the Chapter 11 doesn't necessarily mean the Golden Fleece is gone forever, layoffs and store closures are well underway while the brand looks for a new buyer.
