During the outbreak, Brooks Brothers converted their production line to manufacturing masks to reduce transmission, ramping up production to 150,000 surgical masks per day with 500 factory workers in their Massachusetts, New York, and North Carolina facilities. The collapse of sales coupled with the enormous costs of stores in the most premium real estate retail locations around the world was too much to survive.
