A New Flagship on Club Row

In 1915 they opened their flagship store at 44th and Madison on Club Row. The 11-story, 122,600 square foot building was designed by La Farge & Morris, who also designed the Metropolitan Club, many IRT Subway facilities, and St. John the Divine, New York’s Episcopalian Cathedral. Brooks Brothers' 44th and Madison home opened in August of 1915, a few hundred feet away from the Yale Club, which had opened in June. In 2017 Brooks Brothers refinanced 346 Madison Avenue for $107 million from Morgan Stanley, but even that was not enough cash to save the company from coronavirus three years later.
