The Best Dressed Guests: Week Of July 4th

by Chiara Atik · July 9, 2010

Everyone knows that the best part about going out is getting dressed up, and the attendees at the parties Guest of a Guest covers usually do this with aplomb. Here are the people (and outfits) who made an impression on us this week...

First Place: Shimmering Color Palette At The Met's Young Members Party

It's really hard to look put together and elegant in a heatwave, but does this woman ever pull it off! We're obsessed with her gorgeous gorgeous dress: it's shimmery, but the soft colors and loose cut keep it from looking too Vegas. (The print is in keeping with the theme of an art party too; it looks like something Mark Rothko may have dreamt up after taking Klonopin.)

She pairs the outfit with low gold heels, huge gold earrings, and simple make-up. Very, very pretty.

Second Place: Pink Flapper at Matt DeMatt's Birthday

Maybe it's the cut of the dress, maybe it's the black satin heels, or maybe it's her casual lean against a pool table, but this girl seems like she stepped right out of the 1920s. The color is SO pretty on her, and the skirt falls so nicely. It looks like a great dress to dance (Charleston?) in.

We especially appreciate the shoes: open-toed sandals get boring after a while.

Third Place: Conservatively Dressed At The Met

We think these pants speak for themselves, do you agree?
