Politics and fashion have always been inextricably linked. So at this year's long-awaited Met Gala, where the theme was the oh-so-timely "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," politically-charged style statements were certainly to be expected, especially after a year of heightened social and political awareness. Taking "lexicon" at its most literal, these Met attendees hit the red carpet wearing their message on their sleeve.
