Nothing embodies the taste of sunshine quite as much as citrus fruit: bright, refreshing, bursting with flavor. So what better way to bid adieu to the colder months than with a citrus-tinged feast?
Lucky for us, La Mercerie is serving up just that.
Parisian chef Marie-Aude Rose has launched a special menu at the chic Soho favorite located inside the Roman and Williams Guild, ringing in spring with a very fitting Fête du Citron. Inspired by the annual festival in the Cote d'Azur, Chef Marie is whipping up sweet and savory French fare highlighting the flavors of lemon, grapefruit, orange, and kumquat, and let's just say it's the most delicious way to celebrate the season.
Stand-out dishes include Avocats aux crevettes (New Caledonia shrimp, grapefruit, avocado French cocktail), Torchon de Foie Gras aux Kumquats (foie torchon, kumquat jam, toast), Poisson Cru à L’huile D’olive Citro (fluke crudo, olive oil, lemon, baby spinach) and the chef's personal favorite, Gâteau Basque Aux Agrumes, which is cara cara orange marmalade cake with rosemary ice cream.
Of course, don't forget to pair your meal with a light and bright citrus-flavored cocktail. Cheers to springtime!
