An iconic New York deli order if there ever was one, the classic bagel and lox sandwich is a brunch staple that extends far beyond the Jewish community - although no one makes it better than Barney Greengrass.
Then again, quality is arguable, but quantity is not. This Friday, in Brooklyn of course, you, your bubbeh, and everyone you know are invited to witness the creation of the world's largest bagel and lox, courtesy of Acme Smoked Fish.
In honor of National Bagel and Lox Day (seriously), the Greenpoint-based seafood smokehouse is teaming up with Zucker's Bagels to break the Guinness World Record for the heftiest smoked salmon sandwich ever, complete with gigantic globs of cream cheese, tomatoes, red onions, and capers. Their delicious attempt is set to weigh several hundred pounds - so obviously they'll need plenty of hungry mouths to feed once the deed is officially done.
The fishy foodie event is free for all this Friday, February 9th, at noon, and every attendee is pretty much guaranteed a bite of history. Best lunch break ever? We think so.
Big news! We are attempting to make the world’s LARGEST Bagel & Lox sandwich with @zuckersbagels! The event will be held on Friday, February 9th, National Bagel and Lox Day! Be here at 12pm to take a bite of history! #BagelAndLox #BigNews #LoxForDays
