The Frozen Food Brand Gwyneth Paltrow Just Invested In

by Stephanie Maida · June 13, 2017

When it comes to little miss Goop, anything that doesn't involve raw veggies and vaginal steaming seems to be a no-go. So you can imagine our surprise when we learned that Gwyneth Paltrow, along with sports buff Serena Williams, just invested in a frozen food delivery service based in NYC. Frozen food? Le gasp!

But don't go calling this move sacrilege just yet. Gwyn and Serena are backing Daily Harvest, a mindful, superfood startup serving up organic smoothies, soups, overnight oats and chia puddings made with farm-frozen ingredients. Seriously, this ain't your grandma's TV dinner.

"Frozen food gets a bad reputation but it's actually a very practical way to consume nutrient dense- foods. Most people don't have access to farm fresh produce year-round and often times the produce available in the grocery store was picked before peak ripeness and then traveled a far distance to the store while its nutrients degraded," says GP. "Farm-frozen produce is picked at its nutritional peak, retains more nutrients and its more readily available to everyone."

No wonder Daily Harvest has earned her wellness stamp of approval (along with some of her big bucks). And hey, all their options really do look delicious.
