What does a typical day in the life of Sam Cade look like?
I typically wake up around 6 AM, go get a Trenta iced coffee and do an hour walk with my dog, Wild, throughout downtown Manhattan. I come back and work until around 11:00 am. I like to take a 1-2-hour break to workout - I’m training for the NY Marathon! Then I will get back to work until around 1:00 pm. Every day and every weekend is a little different. Thursday through Saturday are my biggest cake production days so those frequently involve earlier mornings or much later nights. For flour, sugar and powdered sugar, I buy everything in bulk at Costco every other week. I take the D train to the location in South Brooklyn or I run to the location in the Bronx. I then load up a few 25 lbs. each and UBER back. It’s a workout in itself! I also order so many ingredients off Amazon. Feel bad for my delivery man.
