Hill Country
While most of us like to believe the big apple is the best in every way possible, New York isn't the first city that comes to mind when looking for good barbecue. However, Hill Country looks to change that. Texas native Lou Elrose is the pit-master and serves up pork ribs, beef ribs, brisket and barbecue chicken by the pound. Everyone is assigned a meal ticket which they take to the various food stations around the restaurant. After the meat station, check out the sides and pick up a few servings homemade corn bread and perhaps a beer or two at the bar. After dinner, there are sometimes live bands that play in the large room downstairs. The only thing missing is a mechanical bull, but after a few beers you'll be glad they don't have one.
