12. Next, take your left over icing and separate it into 3 bowls and use food coloring to color them.
13. Apply a rough (but fairly thick) layer of each color in rows, then run your icing scraper around the full cake (in one continual motion) to make the sides smooth and get that "tie-dye" bleed effect amongst the 3 colors.
14. Last but not least, insert the 3 colors into (separate) icing piping bags and apply around the top of the cake until you reach the middle! You can also use any left over icing to add piping to the bottom as well.
