We've already got pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes, and even pumpkin cupcakes, but if you're looking to level up your seasonal treat game this fall, we suggest hitting Malibu Farm - and leaving plenty of room for dessert.
The sunny, sustainable, farm-to-table spot at the Seaport's Pier 17 may be known for its healthy and locally-sourced fare, but that doesn't mean that a little bit of indulgence is completely off the table. Case in point? The new, gloriously stacked Roasted Pumpkin Sundae that just landed on its menu.
The brainchild of Malibu Farm's pastry chef Paola Marocchi, the festive dish features a whole mini pumpkin roasted with a concoction of brown sugar and spices, which is then filled with pumpkin ice cream, candied pecans and pumpkin seeds. It's served with a pumpkin spiced caramel and topped with a swirl of roasted meringue to add some smokiness. If you can already imagine how good it smells, just wait until you taste it.
"Fall is my favorite season (nothing says fall like pumpkin!) and ice cream is my favorite treat, so I decided to create a dessert that marries both my loves in one," says Marocchi (a.k.a. our new favorite person in the world).
We can't think of a more delicious, Insta-worthy way to kick off pumpkin season!
