The Most Expensive Free Spirit
You know - that impossibly posh, yet somehow incredibly bohemian type. Forever bouncing between some hole of a Brooklyn art gallery and a gala on the Upper East Side. With a passport that won't quit and a penchant for gypsy-esque design, we all know one. And chances are, if you don't, well that's because it's you.
1. Tuk Tuk Tote in Gold, Figue, $595
Stephanie von Watzdorf has boho chic in the bag. Literally. This Tuk Tuk carrier has been my go-to flight bag since Summer - and I'm sure I'll continue to receive compliments on its durability and uniqueness each season. A NO-brainer non-average bag for your NO-backpack carrying non-average "gyppie" (I just made up this word - a cross between gypset and hippie - you dig?).
2. Ulla Johnson Farah Cardigan, Barneys, $990
This is literally the softest, most luxurious item in my closet. Who is Ulla Johnson? Can we be friends?...
...cut to, just internet stalked the designer. She seems as cool, chic and sophisticated as her cardigan implies. Must pack more of her goods for our upcoming Uruguayan adventure!
3. Custom Macramé Wall Hanging, Etsy, $85
Did you know that Macramé got its start in the 13th century as ornamental fringes made by Arabian weavers? Neither did I, but can't you just imagine these fine ladies back then, huddled around the fire pit gossiping about their upcoming Tinder dates over a giant Macramé loom? Little did they know they would have entire Scandinavian themed design Pinterest boards dedicated to their life's work many moons later...
4. Alix of Bohemia One of a Kind Jacket, Moda Operandi, $1,450
I spotted this jacket on an Instagram a couple of weeks ago, stalked the source and then the designer, and am STILL dreaming of owning one. I find these jackets to be the opposite of superficial, as they are hand made with so much attention, love and soul. Also, the designer, Alix Verley-Pietrafesa is a self-proclaimed "gypsy tailor." Translation: the ultimate BFF for an "expensive free spirit." #squadgoals.
5. Organic Horn Bangles, One Kings Lane, $149
Have you noticed that free spirited types like to feel like they are always connected to nature? Help them out a bit with these Organic Horn Bangles. A STEAL at 40% off at ONE KINGS LANE now.
6. Penelope Chilvers Boots, JCrew, $598
I've owned these boots for two years now and they are still my most worn pair of shoes. They are super comfortable, not like "oh my new fancy designer flat leather boots are really just so easy to walk in" comfortable, but like "UGG style" comfortable. But oh, they are so not UGGly.
7. Ondo Rings, RabLabs, $95
Gather up your #squad spirit sisters, watch as they unwrap one of these bomb ass rings made of natural agate druze. Gather round the bonfire and start your chanting! yaya ya!
8. Lisa Eisner Jewelry, Maxfield, Prices Vary
The original expensive free spirit, Lisa Eisner's pieces are created in her own image and likeness. If you happen to be in LA - head over to Maxfield to score these one-of-a-kind pieces. (Photo via T Magazine)
9. Mokao Snake Hair Pin, Catbird, $230
The sexiest hairpin I ever did see...
10. Vela Candlesticks, RabLabs, $264
Hand Polished with a glossy finish, these would look great on any free spirit's table top.
11. Antonello Giallorio Liscia Beach Bag, Moda Operandi, $365
Remind her of her sunnier days spent beach side in Tulum.
12. Melissa Odabash Nic embroidered voile robe, NET-A-PORTER $325
Forget having to guess her size, this number will look perfect on any free spirit.
13. Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil, $235
I dare you to find a better smelling, better anti-aging oil on the planet. There are some things worth splurging on, and Sisley's face oil is one of them. I use it every night.
