"The Best Guests Come Bearing Gifts" NYC Sells Old Stuff To Pay Off Bills

by Ani Palen · February 28, 2012

NYC governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that the city will begin selling an assortment of “unneeded equipment and supplies” to “reduce operating costs and cut back on excess spending and inventory.” This sale will begin in April at nysstore.com a site powered by Ebay. So what exactly constitutes unneeded equipment and supplies? According to the site: Vehicles, highway equipment, computers, furniture, and office supplies...but it could be cooler than you think.

As lackluster as those items sound there are said to be some unique things up for grabs such as helicopters, 1950’s fire trucks, and airplanes. It remains unseen whether anything purchased from this sale will one day turn into collector's items. But you never know.
