How do you bring the bohemian Gypset vibes to New York?
I think with interior design, you can do a lot. You can create a personal utopia or any type of atmosphere. I had kind of a fun experiment with this house by doing a complete renovation. I tried to infuse a bit of Gypset into a more urban situation by having a very horizontal experience with furnishings and having everything at a below-the-knee level. The idea is to subvert formality and convention using interior design.
I really enjoy the juxtaposition of being in the city a lot of the time and also going to the beach. I think that one without the other is a bit boring and I like bringing my references that I collect around the world and tossing them into this faster, dynamic, cultural mix.
