No CHD with a Long Island Iced Tea
All of these heart health benefits help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. While some types of alcohol may help cardiac health, wine may be the forerunner with the most health benefits. A study conducted in California through Scientific American, found that those who drank wine as opposed to beer or hard alcohol had a 25% lower risk of coronary heart disease death. Similarly it was found that in France, where wine drinking is very popular, coronary heart disease death risk was half that of Americans, who have similar diets and sedentary lifestyles. So while all alcohol (in moderation) seems to aid in heart health, wine has shown to be the leader in providing heart health benefits.
