New York City spas can be many things - relaxing but clinical, public and thus inevitably sketchy, nice but filled with a questionable amount of candles, way too crazy expensive to enjoy, aggressively Russian - but effortlessly, inspiringly cool?
The newly restored Hotel Chelsea has just revealed the latest trick up its historic sleeve, opening the doors to a gorgeous new spa.
On the hotel's 11th floor penthouse level guests will find a string of chic changing rooms, a cozy fireplace lounge, and six invitingly designed wellness spaces. On the menu of tempting treatments is everything from massages, cupping therapy, reiki, craniosacral and reflexology to Chakra alignment, high-performance facials developed in partnership with Dr. Barbara Sturm, Votary, and Sangre de Fruta, ice baths, aromatic steam showers and more.
