The Good Kind of Cult

SoulCycle

When SoulCycle started embracing the term "cult," it seemed like a clever advertising ploy. But, walking into Soul for the first time is more akin to entering a sorority house than any gym. Everyone knows each other, smiling and shouting hellos as they pass by on the way to adjust their bike seats. The instructor walks around referring to the riders by name, asking them about their day at work and how their kids are doing. The environment is so inclusive and familial it is hard not to feel apart of it. Everyone at Soul is so encouraging and friendly it is easy to forget you're still in New York City. The community within SoulCycle runs deeper than just a group of athletes; it is a home away from home for many of the riders. It's always nice to be a regular, right?
