No more magical a place is there than New York during the holidays. A time to cozy up next to a hotel lobby's fireplace (because who the hell actually has one in their apartment), ornament your arms with shopping bags (some of which even have gifts for other people), and forget about whatever diet it was you were pretending to be on last month.
When it comes to traditions, my personal annual favorites are going to see It's A Wonderful Life at IFC (note: if you don't like this movie, you're undeniably a bad person), and hitting up Cafe Un Deux Trois with my family for dinner and a restaurant wide sing-a-long of 'The 12 Days Of Christmas.'
