Speaking of "scammers," no one has embraced the title quite like Caroline Calloway, who these days seems to be more popular than ever. In early 2019, the flower-crown loving Instagram "writer," who launched her career by oversharing and romanticizing her time at Cambridge University years ago, was called out for mishandling a national "creativity workshop" tour, which she charged her fans hundreds of dollars for. After selling tickets, many dates and locations were cancelled, and those who did attend felt they did not get what was promised. Never one to let publicity go to waste, Calloway eventually revived the workshops and promoted them as "The Scam." After that article on The Cut was published by her former BFF and so-called ghostwriter, Natalie, interest in Calloway, for better or worse, has surged.
