I suppose we shouldn't be expecting that much from someone with the handle @TheSkinnyConfidential. Factor in the suspect amount of pink in her feed (I think that quantity of pink is basically the same thing as crazy eyes in terms of being able to peg someone), and her bio, which reads, "UR CHEEKY RESOURCE: BEAUTY x WELLNESS," and it's a pretty low bar being set. She could have spelled 'your.' And all caps is a bit much I hope we can all agree, no?
According to her site, "Lauryn Evarts Bosstick has turned her passion for beauty, wellness and no-censor advice into one of the most distinctive blogs online today." And no-censor is certainly correct. Many of Bosstick's 957,000 Instagram followers were shocked earlier today when the influencer posted a series of photoshopped images of herself, mocking the idea of her bodies journey throughout quarantine - pre, during and post. For many, it was infuriating. For many, it was confusing. Bosstick recently gave birth to a daughter, and some fans at first glance thought that the photo was an empowering, unedited photo of her post-baby body.
Following the poor response she got from fans at seeing her clearly insinuating the hilarious nature of a larger body shape, she removed the post completely. But of course, if there's one thing an influencer should know, once posted, never forgotten.
People have continued to address her insensitivity throughout her other posts. Which, coupled with an 'unfollow,' feels like the most modern Darwinian way to handle someone who also happens to run a podcast network with her husband whose supposed mission is to empower female voices...
