The backlash began after a February 2018 article on the Daily Beast exposed disturbing details about the Oshrys' mother, Pamela Geller. According to the report, the IG-famous sisters (Claudia and Jackie along with Olivia and Margo) went through great lengths to hide the identiy of Geller, who has built a career on being an anti-Muslim activist and far-right political commentator. In 2013, she was actually banned from entering the U.K. after the British government declared that her presence would "not be conducive to the public good."
