Interview: Capturing The Essence Of West Village Perfumery Aedes de Venustas

There is a niche market for designer and boutique perfumes, and the partners behind West Village boutique Aedes de Venusta have created an ode to the industry in their store. Opulent, fragrant, and intimate, the store boasts brands from major perfume houses, even those dating back to the 13th century. We spoke with co-owner Robert Gerstner about the store, the history of perfume, and why it's so important to know the story behind a bottle of perfume.
