What did you want to be when you grew up?
My mom was in business so that was fun. I started to wear the suit and carrying a briefcase to school. So there was that. Then, no joke, I thought I was going to be a rodeo announcer.
Why did you get involved?
I have a Hispanic-Latin tilt. Although I didn’t really grow up. My first time in Mexico was Cabo. But it’s kind of an eye opening experience. A lot of parts of my dads family are from these poor parts of Mexico so when I have a limo pick us up to go to this amazing place. But on the drive from the airport to the resort I thought 'oh my god, these kids look just like me, I’m probably related to half of these kids. 'That was like my first 'oh clearly, there is a lot of issues' moment.
What is your role?
Whether it’s finding the DJ Phresh, who is a buddy of mine now, or helping find the location We all get stuff for the silent auction. The silent auction actually makes the majority of our money so its crucial. It’s also fun. You get to walk into restaurants and say 'I’m on this committee, can I speak to a manager?' We’re really bold about it too. We’re like ‘hi, you don’t know me but you’re about to'. A woman on the committee with us is shameless. Absolutely shameless
What are you most excited for this year?
Last year was so debauchery-filled, Everyone had such a great time, but a lot of people didn’t go because there were other events the same night. The people went to those we were the pissed they missed it.
Where did the night take you?
I think that everyone knew to completely let loose. I ended up at PHD Latenight at like 5am. I peeled off to get pizza and lost...which was the best thing to ever happen to me. The first one was such an awesome night show. Last year I took the following day off. This year I already have in anticipation.
