Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel
"The Eye Has to Travel" is a documentary about Diana Vreeland, the formidable "Empress of Fashion." This film demonstrates Vreeland's strong-willed personality and her many, many achievements in the fashion world. She has been in the fashion world since she started at Harper's Bazaar in 1937. One of Anna Wintour's predecessors, she was editor-in-chief of Vogue from 1963-1971, discovering star "It Girl" Edie Sedgwick. In later years Vreeland worked as a consultant for the Costume Institute of The Met. Beautifully directed by her grandson's wife, Lisa Immordino Vreeland, "The Eye Has To Travel" is a brilliant portrait of this pioneer of fashion.
