Museum of the Moving Image
There are a hundred reasons to go to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens, and none of them are to see a just-released movie. Featuring tons of film series and events, most of which are free with admission, the museum's showings are incredibly varied. Currently, you can catch one of the DreamWorks Animation series (Nov 10-Mar 3) or the Curators' Choice: The Best of 2012 (January 8-February 22). Be sure to also check out the museum's awesome exhibits, including the interaction ADR room, where you can record your own voice over a movie clip!
