Nitehawk Cinema

With super Brooklyn events like a "VCR party", an appreciation for the offbeat is a prerequisite for Nitehawk. They play current movies that lean indie (similar offerings to the Angelika), so definitely don't go here if you're trying to see Mission Impossible. Since Sunshine Cinema shuttered, I've been searching for the best midnight movie showings and Nitehawk is up there. They screen old cult movies like Miyazaki's Nausicaa.Meant to evoke your childhood weekends, Nitehawk hosts Spoons, Toons, and Booze. The event sells out weeks prior so buy your tickets early to indulge in an all you can eat cereal bar and cocktails while watching cartoons.
