While Sarah Jessica Parker is set to take home a ridiculous paycheck (she could earn as much as $50mil if the film does well) for SATC2, there are more than a couple brands that are bidding for your attention in the film. Below, who is really banking from your movie ticket dollars spent on Sex and the City 2:-
1. Hewlett-Packard
Carrie Bradshaw became famous for slaving away in her Manhattan apartment on a Mac laptop. Not anymore. The Sex and the City star has switched over to a PC, and HP had to have paid loads to outbid Apple for that prime spot. The company partnered with the movie so its laptops would be featured, and SJP will appear in their ads, like the one above. Fans and blogs are already criticizing the change - Carrie's Macbook, after all, featured in two prominent storylines on the series, including her flight to Rome. Continuity fail, SATC II.
2. Lipton Sparkling Diet Green Tea.
Lipton is an official sponsor of the movie, and you will see Carrie sipping on the diet drink as she heads to the gym. If Sarah Jessica Parker goes the Hugh Jackman tea-swilling/shilling route, we can look forward to a lady-themed version of this:
3. Skyy
Skyy has a Sex and the City signature cocktail, and is the movie's official vodka. In other words, Carrie Bradshaw mixes it into her Lipton Sparkling Diet Green Tea as she runs on the treadmill.
4. Swarovski
Swarovski paid a bundle to be featured prominently in the film. The All Crystal All The Time brand pops up in onscreen jewelry, accessories, and wedding decorations. Also, the company was the film's "official decor partner" for the New York premiere. At least the money-grubbing in this case creates prettiness, as the crystal-bedecked wedding cake in the flick shows:
5. Halston
Sarah Jessica Parker has an equity stake in Halston, of which she is also chief creative officer. Naturally, the fashion house is splashed all over Sex and the City II: of the 41 different costumes SJP wears, five are from Halson . . . and that's not counting the supporting characters' wardrobes! Another tidbit: the film's costume budget is 10 million dollars.
