BRRRN

BRRRN

As much as I love a good spin or HIIT class, it can be hard to want to work out in a room that quickly feels like a steam sauna as soon as people get moving. So when I stumbled upon BRRRN, the “cold” workout that is done in a room at exactly 500F, I was totally down.

The class I signed up for was SLIDE, which is a 50-minute low to mid-impact workout class on the BRRRN Slide Board. Think indoor speed skating meets a Pilates mat class. Set aside your expectations that you need a hot workout to detox your body and sweat off the pounds.

While I, unlike my Engineering-Major sister, don't understand biochemistry and the whole science of the body, I do know that BRRRN's website has all the info on why exactly working out in the cold actually is a more impactful, calorie-burning workout.

With prices comparable to all other New York City workouts (around $35), you can pay the same amount to exercise, but show up to that dinner without even looking like you broke a sweat.
