Are you ready for the ultimate, Audrey-approved scavenger hunt?
In honor of Reed Krakoff's debut collection, Tiffany & Co. is painting the town blue - in the most literal of senses. From taxi cabs and bodegas, to MetroCards and subway steps, the jewelry brand's iconic robin's egg hue will be making unexpected splashes across New York City starting today, May 1st.
According to Vogue, Krakoff's genius idea represents the true juxtaposition embodied in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's. "[It's] wearing a floor length gown and a tiara while holding a paper bag with coffee and a pastry," he explains. "The idea that luxury doesn’t have to be formal."
To add even more springtime magic to the fleeting citywide installation (which ends May 4th), bodegas from 57th street to Prince will also be boasting delicate, handmade paper flowers. Talk about the ultimate #OOTD backdrop.
If you want to be among the first of your friends to snap a pic, head to Tiffany's custom Google Map to find locations - and keep an eye out for a blue cab speeding by.
