Grand Central
5. Watch the Grand Central Kaleidoscope Light Show and visit the Grand Central Market
Starting back in 2005 and continuing in 2011, Grand Central Station transforms their main terminal into a spectacular light show for the holiday season.
The show runs every half an hour from 11 AM to 9 PM, illuminating the walls of the main concourse, and will continue to do so until January 1st.
After watching the light show, head over to Vanderbilt Hall and visit the market of over 70 unique vendors and perhaps you'll check a few things off your list as well. Although Grand Central can get pretty busy during the holiday season, as long as you avoid visiting the week before (or the day before) Christmas, you should be okay.
