Apps: The League
Self-described as a dating app for popular people who "don't need a dating app to get a date" because "you're too popular as it is", The League is notorious among both users and haters for being overtly exclusive, to the point of bordering douchey. Created by a Stanford MBA grad, the initial objective of The League was to cultivate an environment for high-achieving business individuals to meet one another. Distinctive attributes of The League are: users are only shown five potential matches per day, matches expire after a certain number of days if you don't continue communicating, there's a personal 'concierge' to guide users through their online dating stratagems, you can sort matches into categories such as "new matches" or "flakey", users can filter based on age, height, education, and even race (*insert judgmental emoji*), and perhaps best of all, The League won't show your profile to people you already know (such as coworkers, Facebook friends, family, etc.). With a wait list of over 100,000 people, we recommend making sure that the scene of individuals within The League are right for you before applying, but otherwise, best of luck.
