New York City Marathon: Celebrities Running This Year And Their Causes

    The New York City Marathon sponsored by ING will take place on November 6th 2011. Both celebrities and normal people alike will run the marathon in aid of charities and foundations. Check out our list of who is running the Marathon this year and what they are running for:

    Who: Christy Turlington

    For: Every Mother Counts

    Why: Christy is running the New York City Marathon for Every Mother Counts, a foundation she started to make people more aware of  maternal and child health worldwide.

    Who: Veronica Webb

    For: Harlem United

    Why: Invited by Harlem United, a foundation helping those most at risk deal with HIV/AIDS, Veronica chose to challenge herself by running the New York City Marathon after seeing the amazing work done by the organization.

    Who: Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire)

    For: JDRF

    Why: Paul, who turns 40 this month, wanted to take up the challenge of running the New York City Marathon to raise money for JDRF, a foundation for juvenile diabetes.
