TRESemmé Stylist
Who: TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu
Favorite style for spring: The twisted side ponytail, seen on the runway at Jenny Packham's S/S '13 show, is my fave new style for spring because there are a lot of subtle elements happening in it. It looks different from all angles, since it's asymmetric and it’s casual and dressy at the same time (you can play with a sleek, polished look or play up the texture for a more casual look). It has a retro feel with the deep, side part and low twist, which is very '70s, and the ponytail keeps it polished and open.
How to recreate this look: Start by applying
TRESemmé Climate Control Mousse throughout towel-dried hair and blow dry through with a Mason Pearson brush. Create a deep side part on the left side that runs from the forehead to the hairline at the nape of the neck. Gently back brush the hair to create texture, and spray with
TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray. Smooth out the surface of the hair with a brush and push hair on the right side of the part so that it sweeps over the forehead to just above right ear. While still holding this section of hair, twist the section inwards to create a loose twist that runs down the hairline on the right side to the nape of the neck, securing with pins as you go. Finish the twist on the left side of the nape and brush all hair back into a low ponytail. Fasten with an elastic. Spritz the ends of the ponytail with
TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray and use a blow dryer and brush to soften the style.
Who this works well on: It works best on mid-length or long hair and can be styled on wavy and straight hair. You can have it sleek (like the show) or with a natural wavy texture, or even curly, which would take on a more romantic look. Personalize it!
