Blow's Gregory Patterson

Blow's Gregory Patterson
Who: Gregory Patterson, stylist at Blow Favorite style for spring: Rock and roll beach waves. This looks includes waves that have flattened out a bit, with ends left out and exaggerated, and sometimes even ironed out straight. How to recreate this look: Rock your flat iron – Begin as though you are going to straighten your hair. About midway down the hair section, give your iron a half turn inward and glide down about two inches. Stop and make another half turn in the opposite direction and glide down another two inches. Stop and repeat this rocking/half turn technique until you have about 2 inches of hair remaining at the ends, then iron these pin straight. Make sure to use a thermal protector like Blowpro Heat is On to protect from the heat, and finish the look by spritzing a sea salt texturizing spray like Blowpro Beach Blow to maintain waves. An easier way to get the look is to braid your hair in as many or as little of braids as you desire, keeping in mind the more individual braids you create, the more waves will be achieved. The braids should start about midway down the hair from your roots. Braid until you have about 2-3 inches of hair remaining unbraided on your ends. Once all braids are complete, flatiron "clamp" the braids between your ion plates heating them up, a few times. Before removing your braids, iron out your ends pin straight and use a defining crème to give your ends rocked out piece texture. Remove your braids, spray in some texture spray and finger rake your hair. Who this works well on: Anyone who craves a beachy, rocker style or someone who longs for a glam look to take from day to night [Photo via]
