Not too long ago, the chaotic stretch between 5th and 6th Avenues, home to NBC and Radio City, was on par with Times Square when it came to places to be avoided whenever possible. Not even the famous Christmas tree could get most tourist-averse New Yorkers to the area. But oh, how times have changed. Following a slew of stylish new openings, from swanky restaurants and sceney bars to must-shop boutiques, Rockefeller Center has officially become - dare we say it? - actually cool. Seamlessly blending Uptown and Downtown, these hot spots are to thank for doing the unthinkable and making Midtown a place to be seen - even after work hours.
