Why a variety-style show?
I've been watching and going to see comedy for a long time. I know what I like, and I don't like watching six people stand in a row. I like variety. I like all the ways in which people can be funny. So it's a variety show. There's music. I host it with a live band. I perform my own original songs, like original comedy songs between people's sets. And I think that on its own brings some freshness and energy. We're not like reinventing the wheel or anything, but it makes the experience more fun.
