How are performers distancing themselves from some of the more toxic traits of the industry in a more "woke" society?
I mean it seems so obvious for most of us but, just being an asshole isn’t that funny. There’s a lot of ways to tell a joke and new comedians are finding ways to do it all the time without being an artistic boot on the throat of the already disadvantaged. Those issues certainly haven’t disappeared in the industry and it’s a work in progress every day but yeah, more and more comedians are finally saying “Hey, let’s cut that old shit out.”
